HOPE Binational Fellowship
The HOPE Binational Fellowship is an executive leadership program for accomplished professionals dedicated to advancing lasting change across borders. Fellows strengthen their understanding of national and global economic and security issues, gaining the tools to drive meaningful improvements in the lives of communities nationally and internationally.
Program Objectives
- Immerse Fellows in leading research and analyses on critical national and global economic and security issues.
- Foster connections between Fellows and national and international leaders who serve as mentors and resources for their continued growth and future endeavors.
- Strengthen Fellow’s policy ideas, strategic thinking, and leadership style to maximize impact as a national and global leader.
Program Components
Think Tank Sessions featuring preeminent minds on the topics of global economics, security and the geopolitical landscape. These leaders present the latest scholarship and engage Fellows in active dialogue that encourages questions, debate and learning.
Conversations with Policymakers and Thought Leaders featuring high-level, current or former policymakers who provide a political context to the knowledge gained through the Think Tank Sessions.
Group Discussions and Strategy Breakouts will allow Fellows to work in small facilitated groups for in-depth discussions, case study analysis, and exploration of model policies in key national and global issues.
In advance of each session, Fellows receive concise policy briefs and data summaries to help spark their thinking and prepare them for the in-person learning experiences.
Competencies
After completion of the program participants are expected to have developed the following competencies:
Global Knowledge & Policy Understanding
- Analyze national and global security issues and their impact on communities.
- Understand global economic realities and international trade.
- Examine democracy and systems of international governance.
- Assess the global status of women and its implications for access and opportunity.
Cross-Border Collaboration & Networks
- Build and sustain a binational professional network to strengthen shared impact.
- Develop a working understanding of bilateral relationships and how they shape international policy and cooperation.
