About HOPE

Our Mission

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality® (HOPE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.

HOPE programs and educational events are open to all individuals who support Latina leadership to strengthen our democracy and advance economic mobility.

Our Impact

HOPE® prepares and supports Latinas as civic leaders, advocates for policy changes that champion equal opportunity for all communities, and educates the public on the experiences and contributions of Latinas to our economy and society. For over 30 years, HOPE’s innovative programming has served 60,000 members of our community and touched the lives of several thousand more through our advocacy efforts.

Who We Are

HOPE® prepares and supports individuals committed to strengthening civic leadership and economic advancement, with a focus on Latinas’ contributions to our communities and society. Our advocacy promotes policies that foster opportunity, inclusion, and upward mobility for all, informed by research and community engagement.

What We Do

HOPE’s leadership programs build community power by developing leadership skills and educational opportunities, uplifting Latinas and strengthening civic and economic life for all communities. Through conferences, fellowships, and civic engagement initiatives, HOPE inspires action, builds networks, and equips individuals to create positive change across all sectors.

Why We Do It

HOPE educational events bring together individuals committed to leadership, advocacy, and economic advancement, celebrating the contributions and achievements of Latinas while strengthening our democracy. HOPE gathers and shares data to inform public policies that advance economic opportunity, leadership representation, and educational access, with particular attention to the experiences and aspirations of Latinas.

HOPE listens closely to our fellow Latinas and shares data on their experiences, and advocates for policy changes that champion equity for all.

This includes:

A series of reports on the economic status of Latinas in various states
Public opinion polling in partnership with other community groups
Studies on the state of the Latina community in California
And other data on issues facing our communities, including mental health, educational access, racism, workplace equity, and more.
