Addressing inequities in our educational system and creating seamless pathways from education into the workforce promises to unlock the full potential for all students to equitably participate in California’s economy. Strategies such as the expansion of dual enrollment and career pathways create integrated bridges between high school, college, and career. Building on major state investments and policy changes, Governor Gavin Newsom recently launched an effort to create a “California Master Plan on Career Education” that hopes to “address the pain points that have made it challenging for Californians to learn—and get credit for—the skills they need for a rewarding, living wage work.” In this session, join some of California’s key education leaders to learn about and discuss redesigning educational systems across the education-to-workforce pipeline to better serve California’s diverse student population.
