Latina Action Day® Sacramento
Join HOPE for the 30th Annual Latina Action Day ® – the only advocacy day that centers the voices and experiences of Latinas at statewide policy-making tables. Stand with HOPE in advocating on behalf of more than 7 million Latinas living in California, addressing vital issues in education, healthcare, economic, and civic empowerment. This is a critical moment for Latina voices to unite as we head into a pivotal election year that will impact the future of our communities. As an attendee, you will receive advocacy training, learn about HOPE’s policy platform, and have the opportunity to advocate at the Capitol.
The opportunity to connect with other Latinas in the government affairs space is an invaluable experience — Latina Action Day brings us together and builds a safe space for the community to foster in.
“The speakers were vulnerable with their journeys, inspirational and relatable. Their messages very often hit home for me, and I felt seen and heard in their stories. I attend many conferences, but I don’t often find a story/speaker that I can relate to; at HOPE, that is rarely the case. My cup fills up at HOPE events.”
More About Latina Action Day®
Participants from throughout California convene in Sacramento during the peak of legislative session and just a few weeks prior to the Governor’s May revision of the state budget. The timing of the conference allows participants to express their opinions and priorities to our state’s elected officials during a critical decision-making window.
The conference concludes with the inspiring Celebrating Latina Leadership Reception where HOPE honors and celebrates the contributions of our Latina elected officials in the California Legislature and our Latinas serving in the Gubernatorial Administration. Latina Action Day® Sacramento garners consistent support from the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the Latino Republican Caucus, the Governor, and his administration.
