HOPE Scholarship

The HOPE Scholarship is an award bestowed on one of the participants of our HOPE College Leadership Program Participants after completing program requirements. The scholarship was developed to aide a deserving young lady pursue higher education. Latina college students often face financial insecurity and familial responsibilities. It is with that in mind that HOPE has decided to include as part of the College Leadership Program awarding one program participant a small scholarship aide her in supporting and financing her college education. The recipient of this scholarship should strive for excellence and deliver her best efforts towards being a positive role model, exemplary community leader, dedicated student and a true change agent. 
 

 

 

Applicant Eligibility Criteria  

  • Currently enrolled as a full time undergraduate college student and/or entering or currently in a graduate program

  • Earned a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA

  • Must submit a complete application packet for consideration

  • Must commit to volunteer or intern with HOPE

  • Must be a current participant of the HOPE College Leadership Program and completed all required assignments

 

Key Dates

  • Application opened Wednesday, August 3, 2018.

  • Application due date Sunday, September 30, 2018

  • Award Announcement Friday, October 12, 2018 at YP Summit 2018

 

Selection Process

A panel of professionals will review all application packets and select a recipient. Should interviews be necessary, they will be conducted by program manager.

 

Award

Selected recipient will be awarded the $1,000 scholarship and acknowledged during the reception at the Young Professionals Summit, awardee must be present. The recipients will also be featured as a Future History Maker during Latina History Day the following year and receive online recognition  via social platforms and HOPE’s website.
