Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) invites you and your organization to join Latinas throughout California for two inspirational and dynamic conferences:

You are encouraged to join us as a HOPE Affiliate of both of these powerful conferences. Affiliate Organizations provide a unique perspective and we are counting on you to share you expertise on education, economic development, and other policy issues with other Latinas from throughout the state.

Youth Affiliate

Registration Opens January 22, 2010.

BENEFITS
$25 per student, $40 her adult (5 person min, 10 youth max)
    • Registration for five (5) and no more than ten [10] participants from your organization to one of our conferences. At least one [1] must be an adult chaperone. Registrants can be high school students in the 11th and 12th grade that are invited to attend LHD or LAD by a local school or organization that is registered as a youth affiliate.
    • A live link to your organization on our e-newsletter
    • Podium Recognition at the conference
    • Organization listing in the program.
    • Participants will receive assigned seating for the group. Please note that we will do our best to seat everyone together as space allows.
      CRITERIA
      • Identify a primary point of contact with whom HOPE can correspond.
      • Provide a live link to the HOPE website on Affiliate organization website.
      • Agree to participate in a one year evaluation of the Affiliate program.
      • Space is limited for youth programming, and can only register up to 10 youth per affiliate organization.
      • Affiliates are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations and permits or permission slips for minors.
      College Affiliate


      Early Registration Deadline: February 19, 2010.

      *A savings of $175 per 5 person group.
      • Registration for five (5) and no more than ten [10] participants from your organization to one of our conferences.

      • Participants will receive assigned seating for the group. Please note that we will do our best to seat everyone together as space allows.

      ABOUT CONFERENCES

      Latina History Day
      - Los Angeles
      The Latina History Day Conference, for which Latina History Day in California was created, draws over 600 women to celebrate the historic accomplishments of Latinas and partake in forums on corporate advancement, the state of public education, and financial empowerment. Scheduled annually on the second Friday of March, Latina History Day is the only conference in Los Angeles that is designed specifically to meet the needs of Latina professionals. The conference offers resources, skills development, and networking opportunities to advance her career. The 1st Annual college track will provide two special workshops designated for college students, which will promote successful college retention and career planning.

      Latina Action Day - Sacramento
      The Latina Action Day Sacramento Conference convenes 600 Latina leaders from all regions of California in Sacramento for an annual public policy issues conference. This one day conference is designed to facilitate dialogue between corporate and community Latina leaders and elected officials on public policies affecting Latinas in California. Through town halls, public hearings, and workshops, HOPE presents up to date information, analysis, and access to decision makers on critical issues such as access to healthcare, higher education, and the California State budget.
