On the eve of the California presidential primary, Latina
registered voters are poised to make an immense impact on its outcome.
As part of the fastest growing demographic and consumer group, Latinas
are setting the national agenda with their needs and contributions as
women, as mothers, as sisters, and as leaders. Although Latinas had the
lowest voter turnout of any group in the country in 2006, the number
has seen a dramatic increase over the last two years and Latino voters
(male and female) in the U.S. are estimated at 14 million.
